Rebuilt blocks

The block is the main part of your engine core. From the block, we are able to assemble secondary components, like crankshafts and camshafts.

When rebuilding your block we will go through several steps. One of the first steps is to clean out any debris we find and we will also strip out all necessary items for inspection. In addition, we check for cracks and other damage. If damage is found, we will perform all needed repairs, and we will ensure that all detailing is exact and that bores are aligned before everything is put back together. When the block rebuild has been finished off, we will do another inspection to make sure everything is working properly.

Rebuilt crankshafts

Many shops can rebuild a crankshaft, but very few are good at it. When your crankshaft is rebuilt at APM Diesel, we will perform the following:

Keep in mind, a rebuilt crankshaft needs to be precisely rebuilt. Even a two one-thousands of an inch ( .002”) deviation can cause vibration and rob your engine of horsepower and reliability – drastically reducing engine life.

Camshafts

Your camshaft is needed to ensure proper operation of poppet valves in a piston engine.

APM Diesel willclean the camshafts and inspect for any cracks. If cracks are found, we proceed for replacement.

APM Diesel also can precisely polish camshafts to ensure you get maximum performance out of your engine.

If everything looks ok, these final adjustments will ensure your camshafts are optimized for maximum performance and respect the original specifications.
